Have you ever wondered what strategy you could be using to boost your students ability to remember capital letters and full stops in their writing?
In early years classrooms I have had success by implementing the use of traffic light writing. Essentially as students begin to write sentences, I will introduce the use of green for a capital and red for a full stop.

This helps them to make connections with remembering the placement of capitals and full stops because they are having to change the colour they are using. This with time helps them to gain automaticity which will improve their overall use. You can find a FREE PDF poster on our store to put up in the classroom to refer to during lessons.
